I am UP!

And I have been up since 4:30 a.m. Mariele not feeling so well, although no fever. She did throw up twice, so I stripped the bed after Lee got up. The mattress pad cover is in the washing machine and I also need to wash my pillow. So here I am at 6 a.m. getting ready to fold laundry and at least try to get something productive done. I sense a nap in my future after Analese's dance class today.

Mariele's 2 month check-up . . .

Mariele is 2 months and 11 days today. Here are her stats:

Weight: 12 pounds (75%)
Height: 22 1/4 inches (50%)
Head: 15 1/2 inches (70%)

She weights slightly more than Analese did (11 pounds 3 ounces) and she is a little shorter than Analese was (23 inches).

Ped is not too concerned with the GERD thing seeing as how she is gaining so well and does not seem to be in any discomfort. We are hoping she will outgrow it by 4-6 months. We are also hoping she will outgrow the "goopy eye" by 6-8 months. Her right tear duct is constricted causing the "goopy eye." If it does not go away on its own by 8 months, then we will see a pediatric ophthalmologist who can somehow widen her tear duct for her.

Mariele gave the ped a few cute grins while he was examining her and listening to her with the stethoscope. She was not happy, however, when it was time to get her two shots. She seems to be over it now, though!

Here is a cute Analese quote. There was a ball in the exam room for kids to play with. Analese speaking of the ball: "Mommy, this ball is only for kids and puppies!"

Just seemed like a good place to plop her down . . .

I needed my hands free to load the washer, so Mariele got to enjoy some time in the soft nest of clothes warm out of the dryer!

A Great Weekend!

First I have to say that I am getting my energy back! Could have something to do with the fact that my baby has been sleeping 4-6 hour stretches this past week WOO HOO!! We started off the weekend going to church. I had the girls dressed in the sweetest coordinating pink and brown outfits. It is hard to get pics of them together because Analese is not quite capable of supporting Mariele yet. But I managed to get these:

Then we spent the afternoon and evening with our friends. Analese had fun making Easter eggs with Auntie Yng Yng and the kids:

Mariele was in the best mood all weekend! She was the smiliest baby all weekend long (I am so in LOVE with my baby)!

We all went out for Indian food on Saturday night, YUM! Even ran into another friend there and got to visit some.

OH, I have to post about this CRAFT! Yes a craft! Now I am not a crafty person at all by any stretch of the imagination. I really don't have the patience or motivation for MOST crafts, but I thought this was the coolest thing. Yng Yng learned to do this at M.O.P.S (she has also been trying to get me to go with her, but I've not had the energy until now). Anyway, aren't these the coolest? I even helped with the one that has Mariele's picture on it. For some reason (probably me being the reason) her picture came out more wrinkly. There is a little trick to how you spread on the craft glue. Here they are:

Today we went to IKEA (UGHHH). Had never been before, and it probably would have been cooler if it was not so flippin crowded and if my baby and I did not both have low blood sugars. We finally left so I could nurse her and we could grab a late lunch. Then we went to Sam's and found this area rug (what we were shopping for). I love it and it really warms up our living room so much!

So this past week I had a play date with my new friend in the neighborhood (well the play date was for our daughters, you know what I mean). She is coming to our house for a play date on Thursday! I was feeling guilty because it seems like she was the one always calling me and I was never calling her. I really like her too and we do seem to have a good time together. I am just glad that my old energy seems to be returning. It just took longer after having Mariele for some reason, but I am really feeling like I am back in the land of the living!

I'm a Loyal Commenter!

My friend Carrie from The Vintage Frugal Mom has dubbed me a loyal commenter! Carrie is my IRL friend also. Our families did things together when we lived in Denver and we attended the same church. I do enjoy commenting on everyone's blog, and I also enjoy reading the comments that people leave me. I will leave this button here for any of my May 06 mommies (you know who you are) to pick up if you just want a cool blog button. I love reading all of your comments!

Happy spitter!

First Day of Dance Class!

Analese did so well in her dance class today! She is in the 3-4 year class and they are called the "Jazzy Bugs." She caught right on and did not have any trouble. They started out doing 15 minutes of tap. They did creative movement tapping and hitting the sticks together. Then they did 15 minutes of ballet. They did creative movement sitting on the floor and pretending that they were driving race cars and that their legs were a straight road in front of them. Then they would do stretches. Then they did 30 minutes of gym time. The first several minutes in the gym they appeared to be running laps. Analese loved this and she had a big grin on her face and would wave at me every time she came back around to the window where I was sitting on the other side. She did have a collision with another girl and this caused a momentary upset. I went in and hugged her and she was soon back with the rest of the class. I was so incredibly proud of how well Analese listened and followed the directions of her teachers (I wish she would listen to me and follow MY directions that well). She just really seemed to be in her element in this class. She looked like a budding ballerina to me! Here are a few pics that I took with the iphone (through the window):
