My special kitchen helper...

Today we enjoyed a special swimming play date, but before that, Mariele helped me prepare our dinner in the kitchen. She loves to help in the kitchen, much more than Analese ever has. She poured the ingredients and then very carefully stirred. She is pictured here preparing the brine for our vegetarian "steaks" that we will be enjoying tonight.

Can't wait for back to school!

I know that many of you just completed a school year. I've been following many pre-school graduations in my blogosphere. But I have to say, we are very eager to get back to our homeschool in the beginning of July. Analese just can't wait to do lots of school activities on her new computer! But until then, we have plenty of fun scheduled, including a San Antonio vacation next week. We are enjoying our summer very much.

Pretty flowers and other randomness...

I'm tired. Even though we are not doing school right now, I still managed to have a busy week. Started off on Monday hosting the biggest non-birthday bash I have ever had at my house. We made 3 trips to The Little Gym this week for 4 classes. I tried to keep my girls busy and entertained. I've been on Analese extra hard about practicing piano. That is tiring on me as well. The past couple of weeks I seem to be struggling to get in all my exercise. I'm not sure if I'm tired from not exercising or if I'm too tired to exercise. Anyway, a little down time and decompression has been good for me. I did take a couple of hot tub soaks with my Kindle in its waterproof case this week. Yep, life is good. I'm not getting so far behind on my exercising that I won't catch up with a vengeance eventually. This evening I walked around the yard and admired some of the new blooms that are out.

June - the Goof Off Month!

Somehow we did enough homeschool during the year to afford ourselves a little summer vacation. June will be our goof off month, since we are going back into full gear in July. This morning they enjoyed a nice Jeep ride to the park.










Then they had "tea" on their new patio set. This "tea" is actually ice water. It's a sneaky way to get them well hydrated when it is blazing hot out!
