Best Friends for Life...
My girls get along so well. I would venture to say that they probably get along better than most siblings 99% of the time. They just enjoy being together. This morning, they did not want to start school because they were too busy snuggling under a blanket in the recliner and looking at a book. There are so many sweet moments at my house. Occasionally, it can change like a light switch. Somebody (usually Analese, but sometimes Mariele) will decide that they do NOT want their sister to touch them or be anywhere near them. Luckily, those moments are more rare. Analese complains that Mariele "falls asleep too fast at night." Then Analese gets lonely. Here are a few photos of the sweet moments that I caught on camera this week.

I'm so behind at blogging life events, but life is good and I'm just busy enjoying it. While we were in Little Rock, Uncle David and Aunt Netty had another sleepover for the girls. This was a birthday present for Lee, so he could take me to my very favorite duck themed hotel. How's that for profiting from his birthday? This was our second overnight away from the girls ever. They adore their aunt and uncle.

Meanwhile, we enjoyed our "happy place."

Happy 39th Birthday to my Honey...
I'm blogging about this almost an entire week later, but Lee turned 39 last Friday. We started the morning off with special birthday waffles. OK, they were just ordinary waffles, but his did have a "3" candle. We did not have a "9".

We left for Little Rock later that morning. The next day, we had a birthday party at his mom's house. We got to see baby cousin, Aloe. And we had a nice time with everyone.

A new milestone...
I just delved into the wonderful world of teaching two kids. I started Mariele on her pre-K curriculum yesterday. It is a very gentle curriculum, and it doesn't take very long. So far, I've been able to successfully weave it into Analese's school day. Mariele is smart as a whip and has learned stuff simply through osmosis since she hangs around all the time while I am schooling Analese. I have been amazed at her knowledge when I really have not given her any formal lessons up to this point. She was excited to start her "school" and felt big like sissy.

Happy Valentine's Day
The Valentine's Fairy (aka me) brought gifts to the girls overnight last night. They piled in my bed this morning quite pleased with their loot. (Well. Mariele was already there since she slept with me last night). The sweetest Valentine from Mariele was the offer to have one of her chocolates. Such a sweet, unselfish little tot!

Wild Girls...
I'm not even pretending to do a 365 day photo project this year, but I realized today that I have not taken a photo in over a week. I took these photos of the girls running a cone course in the back yard today. I love the way they are so affectionate and playful with each other, and I love their wild curls on days when I don't technically "fix" their hair.
