Happy Easter Weekend...

Well, Analese and Lee went to church this morning. I was all dressed and ready for church when we made the decision not to drag Mariele out today. Poor baby is even sicker today than she was yesterday. She abandoned her breakfast without taking a bite and went upstairs to crawl back in bed. She has the chills and is running a very low grade fever. I really hope she feels like going out to my 5K run this afternoon. I did take some pretty pictures of Analese and Lee this morning. And Analese even took one of me and . Oh yeah, I got new hair yesterday.

Caterpillar Update

One of our caterpillars formed its chrysalis yesterday. It is amazing how quickly this happens. When we left for the evening, the caterpillar was hanging by its posterior on the paper towel in the lid of the jar. When we came home for the night, there was an entire shed skin underneath it, and it was a green chrysalis.

The other caterpillar is hanging from the paper towel in the "getting ready to form a chrysalis" position. I'm sure that by tonight, it will be a chrysalis.

The Cracking of the Confetti Eggs

Egg Hunt 2012

This morning I hid 92 Easter eggs in the backyard before the kids even woke. We had a dozen real eggs, a dozen confetti eggs, and the rest were plastic. They had a blast finding the eggs, although their Easter baskets could not quite contain them all, hence Analese using her dress to hold the eggs.

It's that time of year again...

Time to dye and paint Easter eggs. Analese, especially, has been living in great anticipation of the moment I spread out the newspaper and set up the dye cups. Mariele really got into this year, also. She seemed to really enjoy painting the eggs. Now for the great egg hunt coming up within the next day or two...

Monarch caterpillars

Our neighbors gave us monarch caterpillars off of a bush in their yard today! I really hope they complete their life cycle for us. Metamorphosis is just so amazing. The girls are pretty pumped.

Family Fun Day

Today Lee had an unexpected day off. Since the last few times we have had family plans fell through due to his crazy work schedule, we embraced this unexpected day off, cancelled school, and just had fun. We went to the Downtown Aquarium. We posed with the white tiger. Yes, of course the aquarium houses a tiger. Don't they all?

Most of the indoor aquarium pictures taken on my iPhone were a bit dim, but we got some pretty good outdoor photos on the carousel and ferris wheel.

It was just one of those wonderful, fantastic, memory filled Mondays that was worth embracing and enjoying.
