To date, I have walked/ran 385.86 miles.
There are 10 weeks left in the year (technically only 9 weeks and 5 days) for me to complete the remaining 114.14 miles of the challenge.
This means I must run/walk a little over 11 miles per week for the remainder of the year.
Time to kick my butt into high gear and do this thang!

My Very First Blog-Mommy Meet-up!
We just returned from a week spent in San Diego. Lee had meetings the first three days of the week, then we had straight vacation after that. While Lee kicked off his first day of meetings, the girls and I kicked off our first day of vacation at Legoland! Legoland would have been exciting enough just by itself, but I was super excited about finally getting to meet one of my dear blog buddies! I've made so many great internet friends over the years, starting with Analese's infancy when I visited the May 2006 birth club board on Babycenter. Several of the women that I got to know on Babycenter started blogs, and now that (and facebook and twitter) is how we keep up with one another. It is amazing to me how well I can get to know these women just by reading their blogs. Several months ago when we realized we were going to visit San Diego, Jenn suggested that it would be very cool to have a meet-up since she is from the Southern California area. The further north I drove, the drizzlier the weather became, so I was really hoping that our Legoland visit would not be completely rained out. Even though it drizzled on us almost the entire visit, we still had a great time. Jenn's son, Jake, took this picture of us. Note my super stylish yellow poncho. My hairstyle had long since melted. Jenn, however, looks fabulous!

Jenn is such a friendly, thoughtful and genuine person. She always showed such a sincere interest in what I had to say, and she asks great questions. I was impressed by how well she seemed to know me just from reading my blog. For instance, she remembered that we are vegetarian and she made sure we ate lunch in the right restaurant. Her kids, Jake and Jadyn, are both even more adorable in person than they are in photos. It was surreal to see my kids playing with her kids. Analese had an especially good time with Jake and Jadyn. Jake soon figured out just how to tickle her funny bone, and the more she giggled, the more Jake seemed to enjoy making her laugh. Mariele was a trooper, although she did melt down right before we had to leave anyway to go pick up Lee. All in all, it was a great day and we made some fantastic memories. Analese loves her new friends, and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to meet Jenn in person. I'm hoping to have more opportunities like this in the future. It's a good thing she's cute....
because she is about to drive me CRAZY!
Remember my happy post about how she was finally sleeping through the night? Well, no more of that nonsense, evidently. She seems to be going backwards. After granting me a blissful 3.5 weeks or so, she totally gave it up. Now she is back to waking a couple of times a night. I usually nurse her back to sleep the first time, but I withhold until sunrise for the other wakings. Sigh.....
On a related note, she is the least distractable baby I have ever encountered in all my life. Case in point - the water fountain at The Little gym. She is obsessed with it, and sometimes I spend the majority of the class trying, in vain, to distract her from it. She has a one-track mind with a singular focus. I realize that this focus and determination may be a very positive trait later. Or she could just grow up to have an annoying case of OCD just like me. Anyway, I think I'll keep her. Because at least she is cute....and sweet.
