Where have you been my whole pregnancy???

I'm asking this question to the little purple pill, Nexium! I think it is the wonder drug that works wonders! AND I can go about 39 hours between dosing. That time release technology is just amazing to me. I did not realize how totally ineffective zantac was for me before I experienced how totally effective the Nexium is.

This morning we made cinnamon twists for breakfast (YUM) and then went to the botanical gardens for an easy and relaxing nature hike. After we came home, I crawled into A's bed with her and took a 2.5 hour nap (and I still feel like I can go to bed now and sleep for 12 more hours).

We took a walk around the block tonight, and when we came back to our house Analese stated our house number which she has been doing lately. But my jaw dropped tonight when she added the name of the street also! The kid knows our address!

And tonight we were enjoying some sweet potato fries. As A was chomping down on hers, she said, "YUM - APPETIZING!"

And she requested to watch the rest of "Off the reindeer" tonight. That would be "RUDOLPH." HA!

Feeling some better today!

Thanks to my fellow bloggers for the kind comments left on yesterday's post. I am feeling some better today. I've relaxed and stayed off my feet more. Pretty tired tonight though, and may turn in early.

First a couple cute Analese tidbits:

1) yesterday in Wal-Mart I was pushing the buggy down the kid's shoe aisle. Analese says, "Mommy, how 'bout tap dancing shoes?" WHERE does she get this stuff???

2) Tonight out of the blue Analese goes up to her Daddy, hugs his legs, and says, "Daddy I want to go ice-skating PLEEEASE!" Again, WHERE does she get this stuff??? We may try to make the ice-skating happen.

End of Pregnancy Blahs

I just don't feel well physically. And just when I get one symptom under control, another one pops up. The Nexium seems to be working for the heartburn. But let's just say that another very unpleasant symptom has replaced it. Also I carried Analese breech and this baby is fully head down. It is so much easier on my body to carry breech! I'm feeling some very unpleasant sensations that I never felt carrying Analese. A lot of lower pelvic pressure and many more braxton hicks contractions. I guess I just have a bad case of the blahs tonight. I have a little more than 7 weeks left. I need to suck it up. OK whine over.

(Not official) Christmas pictures

I was not at all interested in going out on Black Friday, so I took advantage of J C Penney's online sale and ordered A's Christmas dress. It was delivered during her nap today, so I showed it to her as she was waking from her nap. She immediately wanted to try it on (she is such a girly girl and she loves dresses). So I wasn't really planning a photo shoot, but I did take some anyway. Lee was too busy to help, otherwise he probably could have gotten her to smile. But here is a sampling of what is to come!

A's dessert!

Analese just had a bean and cheese burrito for lunch. I then offered her some dessert - a banana, orange, pear sauce? Her request - "Mommy, I want noodles, broccoli, carrots and tofu!" Luckily we did have some of that left over. Yay for a healthy dessert request, huh?

Edited to add: She did eat all of the noodles, broccoli, carrots, and tofu and now she is eating an orange. Hungry girl today!

Quick funny about Analese

Analese has gone with me to most of my OB appointments now. The first thing they always do is hand me a sticker and tell me to go to the restroom and pee in a cup. A has the drill down so well now. The last several appointments go something like this:

A and I enter the bathroom.

A: Mommy, you need a cup? I get you a cup. (runs over to the back of the toilet to get a specimen cup for me).

A: Mommy, you pee-pee in this cup. (I do the action).

A: (points to the specimen window) OK Mommy, put pee-pee cup in window!

What would I ever do without her?

My OB rocks!

I had a good 32 week appointment yesterday. I had some specific concerns that I brought up with my OB and she addressed them and made me feel so Wmuch better!

First of all (these are not concerns, these are just nomal appointment things) I have gained 13.5 pounds so far. My blood pressure was very good. Baby's heartbeat was also very good. I told doc that I am taking 3 doses of Zantac 75 per day. She said that is fine, but she thinks I would respond better to prescription Nexiium, so she is calling in some this morning. I also mentioned the sharp pain in my right upper thigh and she thinks it is round ligament pain. Not much I can do about that but endure it. I had that same pain at the very end with Analese. I also mentioned the increased Braxton Hicks. She noticed I was contracting during the exam also. Not a concern unless I have more than 4 an hour. So baby Mariele and I are both doing well.

Now my concerns:

1) When I had Analese I was able to nurse her in the recovery room. I would like to be able to nurse Mariele in recovery as well. This hospital is not as well-run and posh as the hospital where I delivered Analese. She said that we will have to push for it, but we will have the baby in recovery with me. Apparently her dad who she practices with has fought with the hospital for 20 years over this issue. He says healthy newborns belong with their moms, not in the nursery. So she and Lee will both make sure that Mariele gets only the necessary stuff done in the nursery, then she will come to me. Lee says he will just go get the baby and bring her to me if he has to. Code pink! Dad abducting the baby! Makes me laugh! Apparently the recovery room nurses do not like being responsible for both mom and baby. But Lee can be there with me so they can relax.

2) I want to room in with Mariele. This is not a problem even at this hospital. Apparently this is common practice, and Mariele should be with me the whole time once I get into a room.

3) I want to go home the next day like I did with Analese. I told doc this is totally her call, and it is not my intention to be pushy or demanding. But she said as long as I am eating and moving around, there is not reason why I should have to stay more than one night.

4) Getting my tubes tied: most convenient to do at the same time as the c-section, but there is also an option to come back 4 weeks later and do it laparascopically. Lee and I are still discussing this one.

5) photography/videography during the c-section: She is totally COOL with this, even encourages it! She is such an awesome OB!

I am getting really excited now as the time draws near. I will be pre-registering with the hospital soon. I hope and pray that things go as smoothly as they did with Analese. I really do love this OB. She is so personable and close to my age. Her daughter is one day younger than Analese! Anyway, that's about it. I felt good about yesterday's appointment.
